Parks and Recreational Areas in Nevada

Nevada State is situated in the Western Part of US. The biggest city of Nevada State is Las Vegas and the capital is Carson City. Nevada is also officially known as ‘ The Silver State’. The other names by which Nevada is also known as are ‘ The Sagebrush State’ and ‘ The Battle Born State’. The name of Nevada had been derived from a Spanish word ‘nevada’ which is the feminine terminology of ‘ covered in snow’. Nevada is also known as places of recreation to the local dwellers and the tourists. Economically Nevada is dependant upon mining, manufacture of dairy products and agricultural products.


There are some well-known Parks and Recreational Areas in Nevada. Each of the Nevada Parks and Recreational Areas are of different natures. Anyhow the recreation remains in all the cases. Only the differentiating factor lies is that the facilities provided by each Parks and Recreational Areas in Nevada US. In US all the Parks and Recreational Areas are located at distances apart from each other. The names of Parks and Recreational Areas are stated underneath;

  • Clark County Wetlands Park-
  • Clark County is the biggest park located in Clarke County. It falls on the Eastern part of the Las Vegas Valley from which operates the various water treatment plants at the natural zones of Las Vegas Wash and later into Lake Mead. There are some exquisite displays within the park premises. This reflects to the visitors that how Las Vegas Wash used to look before the mass settlement in the valley and the impact of the settlement had on the environment. Clark County Wetland’s Park has a visitor’s center and also areas where the visitors can go out for recreational walk.

  • Lake Mead National Recreation Area-
  • Lake Mead National Recreation Area is in Southern Nevada and North Western Arizona. The main recreational areas are two large reservoirs like Lake Mead and Lake Mohave. The visitors or the tourists will find in these lakes boaters, swimmers, sunbathers and fishermen. There is also Hoover Dam which was set up in the year 1936 which later on created Lake Mead. The tours to these areas are controlled by an important government department of US.





    There is also another recreational area by the name Lahontan State Recreation Area which is just on the Carson River on the Northwestern part of Nevada’s capital Carson City. There are some services offered by Lahotan State Recreation Area Park. The list of services are stated underneath:
