Demography of Nevada

An inland state in America, Nevada lies to the western part of the country. Discovered by the Spanish explorers Nevada was once a part of Mexico before it was incorporated as an American state in the year 1864. With its present population Nevada happens to be the 37th most populous states of America. The Demography of Nevada is mixed like any other state in the country. While the bulk of the population of the state prefers staying in the cities or at least the suburbs, the villages or the towns of Nevada are generally sparsely populated. The bulk of the population thrives in the southern part of the Nye County.

The recent Census estimate of America states that Nevada has an estimated population of 2,495,529, which is an increase of 3.5%, over the last years. Nevada is reported to have immigration from outside the United States which has contributed much to Nevada's growing population. In fact Nevada is one of the fastest growing states in the country running in close econd to the state of Arizona. Owing to it's relaxed tax and matrimonial laws many prefer to stay in the cities of Nevada.

While the population under 5 is reported to be close to 7%, 26.3% of Nevada population is under 18 while the 65 or older constitute 13.6% of the total count. It is striking that the state maintains a more or less equal ratio in terms of its male and female population with approximately 50.7% constituting the latter.

The Demography of Nevada constitutes of both the ancestry groups like German, Mexican, English, Irish and certain other ethnic groups like the Hispanic and Asians.
